Labnation | Equipping Schools. Empowering Students. Enabling Futures.

We equip African schools with tech labs

We design, supply and install standard technology laboratories in secondary schools, then give senior students structured data science training, so a hardware investment turns into lasting skills.

Bridging the digital infrastructure gap in African schools.

LabNation began with a simple but stubborn belief: African students shouldn’t just consume technology — they should understand it, build with it, and use it to solve problems that matter to their communities.

That belief is why Prince, Maryam, and Oluwatola came together. Between them, they carry science, data, education, and technology strategy, but what actually built LabNation was a shared frustration: too many schools have devices, and too few have the training, mentorship, and infrastructure to turn access into ability. LabNation exists to close that gap.

Our vision

Advanced technology education in every secondary school in Africa, and a generation inspired to build the technologies of tomorrow.

Our mission

Future-ready digital ecosystems for schools: real infrastructure, intelligent computing, AI and data science education, and technical support that lasts.

Meet the founders.

Three founders. One shared vision.

Prince Ozioma Emmanuel

Founder & CEO | Science, Learning & Leadership

Prince spent years in laboratories and lecture halls before realizing his real interest wasn’t just doing science; it was building the systems that help other people learn to do it well. His background spans biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, and spectroscopy, alongside university teaching, research, and institutional leadership.

At LabNation, he leads educational programming and training coordination, designing how students actually experience learning, not just what they’re taught.

“Technology access means nothing without the mentorship to go with it. My job is making sure students don’t just get a laptop or desktop — they get a reason to be curious about what’s inside it.”

Maryam Bello-Hassan

Co-Founder | Data Science, Education & Scientific Innovation

Maryam intersects between the wet lab and the command line. She’s currently completing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Texas Tech University, researching receptor trafficking through fluorescence microscopy, after earning her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry with distinction. Along the way, she taught herself , and then others, how to turn raw data into insight, building dashboards and automated workflows in Python and managing clinical research data.

That same instinct led her to build an independent platform teaching practical data skills, which now shapes how she thinks about LabNation’s curriculum: hands-on, not theoretical.

“I learned data science by breaking things and figuring out why. I want our students to have that same freedom — to experiment without fear of getting it wrong.”

Oluwatola Adedeji

Co-Founder | Technology, Data & Innovation

Oluwatola has spent his career translating complex data into decisions — mapping agricultural systems, monitoring environmental change, and building geospatial intelligence tools across academia, government, and international development. His work in remote sensing, GIS, and AI has always had one throughline: using technology to solve real, on-the-ground problems.

At LabNation, he sets the technology strategy and shapes the digital curriculum, making sure what students learn today prepares them for the tools they’ll actually use tomorrow.

“I’ve seen what happens when good data reaches the wrong hands or never reaches anyone at all. I want African students building the systems that use data well — not just the ones consuming what’s built elsewhere.”
